João Fonseca wins 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals: The Brazilian tennis star defeated American Learner Tien 3-1 to claim the title and over $0.5 million in prize money from a total pool of more than $2 million.

Jeddah, December 23, 2024 – In a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals, Brazilian tennis sensation João Fonseca emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious title in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. The event, held from December 18 to 22, was a celebration of youth, talent, and the global appeal of tennis, as it marked the second consecutive year the Kingdom hosted the high-profile tournament.


Fonseca, who had shown impressive form throughout the competition, triumphed in the final with a commanding 3-1 victory over American rising star Learner Tien. The final match, filled with powerful rallies and strategic shot-making, ended with Fonseca asserting his dominance and securing a well-deserved win. The triumph earned him not only the coveted Next Gen ATP Finals trophy but also a significant financial reward, as he took home over half a million dollars from the event’s prize pool, which exceeded $2 million.


The event was organized by the Saudi Tennis Federation (STF) in collaboration with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport. The Next Gen ATP Finals, which brings together the best up-and-coming male players aged 21 and under, has quickly become one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures on the ATP calendar.
