Amman, December 25, 2023, The Jordanian government warmly welcomed the announcement made by the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, regarding an agreement reached between the Yemeni parties to develop a roadmap supporting the peace track.
Sufian Qudah, the spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, expressed Jordan's hope for the swift finalization and signing of this agreement. He underscored Jordan's steadfast support for all endeavors aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis, upholding Yemen's unity, stability, and territorial integrity, and fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, peace, and prosperity.
Qudah commended the efforts of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, highlighting the significance of mediation initiatives led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. These efforts are dedicated to achieving a political solution that paves the way for a new era of peace and stability in Yemen. Jordan stands in solidarity with these diplomatic endeavors and supports the pursuit of a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Yemeni conflict.
