Amman, February 10, 2024, In a recent announcement, the Jordanian government voiced its concerns regarding potential military actions by the Israeli occupation forces in Rafah, situated in the southern region of the Gaza Strip. This area has become a refuge for numerous displaced Palestinians seeking safety from the ongoing aggression by Israel. Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, the spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized Jordan's steadfast rejection of any displacement of Palestinians, either within their homeland or beyond. Al-Qudah stressed the urgent necessity to halt the conflict in the Gaza Strip and establish an immediate ceasefire to ensure the safety of civilians, facilitate their return to their homes, and enable the delivery of essential aid throughout the region.
Al-Qudah called upon the international community to fulfill its obligations and take prompt and decisive measures to halt Israel's continued warfare, which has precipitated an unparalleled humanitarian crisis. He urged the UN Security Council to promptly fulfill its duties to prevent further escalation and enforce an immediate ceasefire.
