Amman, February 19, 2024, Jordan's Minister of Government Communications and Government Spokesperson, Dr. Muhannad Mubaidin, has lauded the profound bond between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Jordan, attributing its remarkable depth to the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan. He highlighted their shared commitment to fostering comprehensive development across various sectors and levels of interaction between the two nations.
In an interview with the Saudi Press Agency, Mubaidin emphasized the historical roots of the bilateral relationship, dating back to the founding of both countries, and underscored its solid foundation built upon mutual interests. He particularly praised the unwavering support extended by Saudi Arabia to Jordan, especially during times of economic crisis, and its steadfast backing of Jordan's stance on the Palestinian issue.
Mubaidin stressed the paramount importance of the Palestinian cause and highlighted ongoing coordination between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, particularly within the framework of the ministerial committee established during the Riyadh-hosted Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit. This committee aims to monitor developments in Gaza and ensure the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, Mubaidin discussed the economic and investment cooperation between the two nations, commending Saudi Arabia's support for the Jordanian economy through various projects. He revealed plans for Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosari's upcoming visit to Jordan to coordinate joint Arab media efforts and devise strategies for engaging with international media entities.
With Jordan's participation in the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh, Mubaidin emphasized the significance of the event and its agenda, which includes discussions on emerging media trends, media crisis management, countering misinformation, and the role of generative AI in media.
Regarding economic ties, Mubaidin underscored the societal benefits expected from the NEOM project, emphasizing Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and investments that mutually benefit both countries as neighboring nations.
