The 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran is taking place in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The competition is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
There are a total of 174 contestants from 123 different countries participating in the competition.

On the second day of the competition, the judging panel for the final round of the 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran resumed its work. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance organized this competition.Twenty contestants, ten in the morning and ten in the afternoon, competed in a variety of categories during the competition that took place at the Grand Mosque on Sunday. The panel listened to the twenty contestants' recitations.The panel heard twenty-four hopefuls over the course of two sessions on Saturday, bringing the total number of contestants to thirty-four.An assortment of countries, including Australia, Albania, Malawi, Cameroon, Canada, Togo, Tanzania, Mali, Somalia, Libya, Mauritania, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, Niger, Tunisia, Gambia, and the United Kingdom, were among those that participated in the competition on Sunday.On Monday, the third day of the final stage, when the tournament will resume where it left off, candidates from other countries will perform recitations.Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, inaugurated the competition's final stage this past Saturday.The tournament is taking place at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, and 174 candidates from 123 different countries are competing.
