Riyadh, November 20, 2024 – Minister of Justice Walid Al-Samaani recently visited the headquarters of The Hague Conference on Private International Law in the Netherlands, where he engaged in a productive meeting with Christophe Bernasconi, the Secretary General of the Conference. The two leaders discussed a broad range of issues focused on strengthening cooperation in the fields of justice and human rights, areas where Saudi Arabia has shown significant progress in recent years.
During the meeting, Al-Samaani took the opportunity to highlight the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s notable advancements within its judicial and legal systems. These strides have been achieved under the visionary leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the close supervision and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These reforms align closely with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which places a strong emphasis on modernizing the judiciary and strengthening the rule of law across all sectors of society.
The Minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to the implementation of all international agreements and treaties that the Kingdom has signed, emphasizing that the Kingdom adheres strictly to internationally recognized procedures. He noted that Saudi Arabia has consistently applied a fair and impartial judicial system, ensuring that the right to litigation is guaranteed to both citizens and residents alike. This commitment to justice and legal transparency is integral to the Kingdom’s broader vision of building a just and modern legal system.
