Kazakhstan's President emphasizes strong bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia

Astana, August 18, 2023, In a recent statement, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan emphasized the robust bilateral relations shared by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan. Highlighting the significance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of environment, water, and agriculture, President Tokayev underscored the mutual benefits that can be derived from closer ties between the two nations.

During a meeting held in Astana yesterday, the Kazakh President engaged in discussions with Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. Al-Fadhli is currently on a visit to Kazakhstan, leading a prominent delegation from the environment, water, and agriculture sectors in the Kingdom. During the meeting, the two parties engaged in fruitful discussions regarding the enhancement of collaboration and thoroughly examined significant prospects in the fields of environment, water management, and agriculture.

In a recent meeting, Minister Al-Fadhli expressed the warm regards of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Their well-wishes were extended to President Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan, with hopes for continued advancement and prosperity. In response, President Tokayev conveyed his gratitude and greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and the Saudi Government and people.

During his visit to Kazakhstan, Minister Al-Fadhli had the opportunity to engage with various high-profile individuals and organizations. Among them were the Minister of Agriculture, Yerbol Karashukeev; the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Zulfiya Suleimenova; the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Yerlan Baidaulet; and several prominent companies specializing in food security. These meetings took place on the sidelines of Minister Al-Fadhli's official visit, providing a platform for fruitful discussions and potential collaborations in the realm of food security. In the course of their meetings, the participants engaged in fruitful discussions pertaining to various facets of bilateral cooperation. Key areas of focus included exploring avenues to bolster integration and foster increased trade in agricultural products. Additionally, deliberations centered around pressing concerns such as environmental preservation, water management, and ensuring food security.
