Astana, August 19, 2023, In a meeting held yesterday in Astana, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan engaged in discussions with Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Emphasizing the strong bond between the two nations, President Tokayev underscored the significance of enhancing collaboration in the areas of environment, water, and agriculture. During a recent visit to Kazakhstan, the Saudi minister, accompanied by a distinguished delegation, engaged in fruitful discussions with the Kazakh president. The primary focus of their talks revolved around enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring key opportunities in the fields of the environment, water, and agriculture. In a diplomatic exchange, Al-Fadhli, representing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, extended warm greetings to Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The message also conveyed well wishes for the continued advancement and prosperity of the Kazakhstani people. The president extended his greetings and expressed his appreciation towards the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and the government and people of Saudi Arabia. During his visit, Al-Fadhli engaged in several meetings with high-ranking officials and industry leaders, including the Kazakh Minister of Agriculture, Yerbol Karashukeyev; the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Suleimenova Zulfiya; the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet; and various CEOs of food security-focused companies.
The meetings centered around the topics of cooperation and exploring opportunities to enhance the integration and trade of agricultural products. Additionally, discussions were held regarding pressing concerns related to the environment, water, and food security.
