Makkah, August 28, 2023, The King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran encourages Muslim youths around the world to learn the holy book by heart and helps to create a generation that abides by the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah as well as the principle of moderation, according to Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and head of the Senior Scholars Council. Al Sheikh emphasized that since this nation was established by the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, protecting and maintaining the Holy Quran has always been a top priority for its leaders. In order to encourage Muslims to participate and advance their religious knowledge, he continued, the Kingdom is eager to host national and international Quran tournaments and to award millions in awards. Al Sheikh thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for continuing to support the King Abdulaziz International Competition.
