Riyadh, August 26, 2023, General Overseer of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran and Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance The 43rd competition's final qualifying round, which will last six days, was launched by Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh at the Grand Mosque. Al-Sheikh emphasized that it is evidence of the Kingdom's desire to spread knowledge of the Holy Quran and to show concern for all Muslims because the event aims to make the competition among Muslims memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Holy Quran more exciting. In addition, 166 competitors from 117 nations are taking part in the tournament, which offers rewards totaling SAR4 million, including SAR500,000 for the top prize and SAR5,000 gifts for each competitor in addition to other gifts. Al-Sheikh claims that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs selected judges for the competition who had extensive training in and knowledge of the Holy Quran.
