King Abdulaziz Library Branch at Beijing University Enhances Arab-Chinese Cultural Interaction

The King Abdulaziz Public Library branch at Beijing University hosted cultural events in October to promote cooperation between Arab and Chinese cultures, featuring visits from key figures like Hu Muqing of the Shanghai Art Collection Museum and a delegation from Saudi Arabia’s RDIA.

Riyadh, November 1, 2024 — The King Abdulaziz Public Library branch at Beijing University recently hosted a vibrant series of cultural events throughout October, aimed at fostering deeper cooperation and communication between Arab and Chinese cultures. This initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of cultural exchange in enhancing bilateral relations.


During this enriching month, the library was honored to welcome Hu Muqing, the president of the Shanghai Art Collection Museum. His visit was part of broader efforts to strengthen cultural and artistic collaboration between his institution and the King Abdulaziz Public Library. Library officials showcased the diverse sections and programs available at the library, providing Muqing with a comprehensive understanding of its offerings. The discussions centered on the potential for future partnerships, particularly in organizing joint exhibitions and launching cultural and artistic projects that celebrate the rich heritage of both Saudi and Chinese cultures. In addition to the visit from Muqing, the library also hosted a delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), led by Dr. Maha Al-Mozaini, General Director of Planning and Development for Grants. This visit underscored the importance of cultural and academic collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China. The discussions focused on collaborative opportunities across various sectors, including energy, industrial leadership, sustainable development, and healthcare, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of international partnerships.


As part of its ongoing commitment to knowledge dissemination, the King Abdulaziz Public Library branch, in collaboration with the Languages Faculty, organized a significant seminar addressing the experience of teaching Arabic and Chinese languages in Egypt. Furthermore, a delegation from Tianjin Publishing House visited the library to enhance cultural and intellectual collaboration.
