Dammam, February 05, 2024, In January 2024, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam achieved a significant milestone by recording its highest monthly throughput to date, handling a total of 215,179 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). This remarkable accomplishment underscores the pivotal role of the port in bolstering the ports sector, enhancing logistics services, supporting national imports and exports, and elevating the Kingdom's standing in international rankings.
This achievement is a testament to Mawani's relentless efforts to fortify the Kingdom's leadership position in the maritime sector, optimize its capabilities, and amplify its economic and developmental contributions, in alignment with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS).
These positive developments are the outcome of collaborative initiatives spearheaded by Mawani in conjunction with strategic partner Saudi Global Ports and various stakeholders from national and international operating companies at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. It is worth noting that this milestone surpasses the previous record set in July 2023, when King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam handled 211,202 TEUs.
