Abu Dhabi, April 08, 2024, Located on the Arabian Gulf coast, King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam stands as the Kingdom's largest and a testament to remarkable success. It plays a pivotal role in driving the country's industrial and economic resurgence, cementing the Kingdom's leadership in the maritime sector, optimizing transport capacity and logistics services, and contributing significantly to economic development.

The port's operational and logistical prowess is evident through its 43 fully serviced and equipped berths with a combined capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers. It houses specialized terminals and state-of-the-art facilities, equipped with modern handling equipment capable of accommodating diverse cargo types. These capabilities align seamlessly with the objectives outlined in the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), aimed at establishing the Kingdom as a global logistics hub bridging continents.

Further enhancing its offerings, the port features essential support facilities such as a refrigerated cargo station, cement stations for exporting black and white cement and clinker, a bulk grain station, a raw iron handling station, a marine manufacturing zone, and gas and petroleum platforms. At its core, a ship repair facility with two floating docks catering to ships of up to 215 meters in length ensures comprehensive service capabilities.

Moreover, the port's strategic connectivity extends to the Riyadh Dry Port via railway, facilitating efficient goods transport to the Eastern and Central regions.

To enhance its competitive edge, the port has collaborated with major national and international entities, leading to the establishment of four integrated logistics parks. Notable partnerships include MEDLOG, the logistics arm of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Abyat, United Electronics Company (eXtra), and Saudi Global Ports Company (SGP).

The port's recent achievements include the addition of 12 new shipping services in 2023 and five new shipping lines in early 2024, enriching services for importers and exporters. Notably, it achieved record-breaking monthly throughput in 2023, handling 2,305,811 TEUs, reflecting a 13.10% increase from 2022. The port's excellence was further highlighted by setting a new record in March 2024, handling 289,787 TEUs, showcasing its robust infrastructure and capability to manage growing container volumes and accommodate diverse vessel sizes.
