King Abdulaziz Public Library displays rare Quranic manuscripts, emphasizing Islamic arts.

Riyadh, April 13, 2025, The King Abdulaziz Public Library's heritage collection boasts over 400 rare copies of the Holy Quran from various Islamic eras, dating between the 10th and 13th centuries AH.

 Beyond their Islamic heritage value, these copies showcase the brilliance of Arab-Islamic art through exquisite calligraphy, engraving, formation, and ornamentation, reflecting the majesty and reverence of the Holy Quran.

 The diverse collection is categorized by calligraphy type, region, date of copying, and decorative styles. All the copies feature decorated frontispieces and colophons, including early Andalusian and Moroccan copies written on square parchment, Indian copies with various floral motifs, alongside Chinese, Kashmiri, and Mamluk models.
