Riyadh, October 30, 2024 – The King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh has announced the unveiling of a remarkable collection of postage stamps that chronicles contemporary Saudi history. This extensive collection serves as a visual narrative of the Kingdom’s national occasions and significant events, both prior to and following its founding.
Spanning a vast array of 13,000 stamps, the library's collection features rare specimens that reflect the rich heritage of Saudi Arabia, particularly those issued during the reign of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founding monarch of the Kingdom. Among these, the oldest stamp dates back to March 1925, providing a tangible link to a pivotal era in Saudi history.
One of the collection's standout pieces commemorates King Abdulaziz's accession to the throne in 1931-1932, a significant event that preceded the unification of the Kingdom on September 23, 1932.
