King Abdulaziz University's Deaf Inclusion Program Wins "Zero Project" Award 2023

King Abdulaziz University's (KAU) Deaf Inclusion Program has been honored with the prestigious "Zero Project" Award 2023, recognizing its innovation, impact, and scalability in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities globally. The award, which acknowledges innovative policies and practices, received a record-breaking 526 nominations from 97 countries this year.


KAU's award-winning program focuses on improving students' language skills, training sign language interpreters, promoting deaf awareness, and integrating sign language throughout the university. Dr. Hana Al-Naeem, the Acting President of KAU, expressed pride in the university's third-time win of the Zero Project Award. She emphasized that this recognition reflects KAU's dedication to inclusive education and advocacy for the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities. The award serves as motivation for KAU to continue developing and enhancing services for this community.
