In a significant advancement for the Kingdom's renewable energy sector, the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) has officially adopted two professional certificates under the HADAF program, marking a crucial step in enhancing the proficiency of specialists in solar photovoltaic (PV) energy.
The first of these accredited certifications is the Photovoltaic Systems Planner/Designer Certificate (SS-PVD). This program is meticulously designed to impart both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise essential for the effective design of small solar photovoltaic systems. Trainees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the planning and technical requirements needed to develop efficient solar energy solutions.
The second certification, the Photovoltaic Systems Installation Certificate (SS-PVI), focuses on the practical aspects of the solar energy field. This course covers the necessary steps to successfully assemble, install, test, and operate small solar photovoltaic systems. It is tailored to ensure that professionals are well-versed in the hands-on processes critical to the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems.
To support these training initiatives, KACARE has established a network of 12 training centers across the Kingdom, dedicated to delivering these programs. These centers have organized approximately 284 courses, aiming to prepare and train up to 1,466 specialists in solar photovoltaic technology. Efforts are ongoing to expand the reach of these training programs by accrediting additional centers, thereby broadening the scope of professional development in this vital field.
KACARE’s commitment extends to the development and accreditation of training curricula, ensuring that all programs adhere to stringent standards of safety, security, and technical excellence. This rigorous approach is essential for the effective design and installation of solar photovoltaic systems that are integrated into the Kingdom’s distribution network.
By offering these accredited training programs, KACARE is not only enhancing the skill set of Saudi human resources but also contributing significantly to the Kingdom's sustainability objectives. These initiatives bolster Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading global energy hub, driving forward the nation’s goals in renewable energy and modern technological advancements.
