Riyadh, August 23, 2024 – King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, a premier hub managed and operated by Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), has proudly announced a historic milestone. In a recent press release, the airport revealed that it has shattered its previous passenger traffic record during the end of July and the beginning of August 2024.


The airport reported a remarkable 3.5 million passengers in July 2024, surpassing its previous record of 3.1 million set in June by a substantial 400,000 passengers. The surge in traffic is a testament to the airport's growing prominence as a major aviation hub.


The peak of this achievement came on Thursday, August 1, 2024, when King Khalid International Airport recorded a new single-day high of 130,000 passengers. This impressive figure eclipsed the earlier high of 125,000 passengers recorded on July 25 and the previous record of 124,000 passengers set on June 13. Additionally, the airport demonstrated its operational efficiency by achieving a seat occupancy rate of 91% in July, highlighting its capacity to manage increased demand effectively.
