Lilongwe, September 05, 2023, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has spoken with Lazarus Chakwera, the President of the Republic of Malawi, about bilateral relations and measures to further cooperation. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Kattan, the Royal Court advisor, delivered the message during his meeting with President Chakwera today in Lilongwe. During the meeting, Kattan conveyed to the President of Malawi warm greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as their best wishes for the country's government and people to continue progressing and prospering. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH, the Crown Prince, and the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were all thanked and welcomed by the President of Malawi in return.
He also reaffirmed the support of his nation for the Saudi Arabian Kingdom's quest to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh. He expressed his appreciation for the First Saudi-African and Fifth Arab-African summits, both of which will take place in Riyadh this year.
Yazid Al-Dariwish, the deputy Saudi ambassador to the Republic of Zambia, was also present at the meeting.
During a press conference with Kattan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi reaffirmed that her nation supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ambition to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh. She also reaffirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the first Saudi-African and fifth Arab-African summits this year.
As a sign of the close ties between the two nations, Kattan, on behalf of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressed gratitude and appreciation for this support.
