Riyadh, January 02, 2024, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud chaired the Cabinet session, addressing various national and international matters:
1. Recognition of the positive progress in the Saudi-Japanese Manar initiative for clean energy, potentially serving as a global model.
2. Acknowledgment of the commencement of the fourth year of the eighth session of the Shura Council, highlighting accomplishments in citizen welfare and comprehensive development.
3. Extension of the Citizen Account Program until the end of 2024 to support beneficiaries amid economic challenges.
Key decisions:
1. Formation of the Board of Trustees of the Green Initiative Foundation, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
2. Approval of a cooperation agreement to combat crime between Saudi Arabia and Albania.
3. Authorization for the minister of environment, water, and agriculture to discuss and sign a memorandum of understanding for smart agriculture with representatives from the Korean Ministry of Agriculture.
4. Approval of a model memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and counterparts in several countries in the municipal and housing sectors.
5. Approval of a memorandum of understanding with Türkiye for cooperation to promote direct investment.
6. Authorization for the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding in nuclear safety with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
7. Authorization for the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property to sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
8. Approval of an agreement with Luxembourg in the field of air transport services.
9. Authorization for the minister of media and chairman of the General Authority of Media Regulation to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Media Commission of Jordan.
10. Authorization for the chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the China Securities Regulatory Commission on cooperation in securities and future contracts.
11. Authorization for the president of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority to sign the Makkah Al Mukarramah Convention on Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Cooperation among the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states.
12. Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the General Department of Financial Investigation and the Hellenic Anti-Money Laundering Commission for cooperation in exchanging financial investigation related to money laundering and financing terrorism.
