Riyadh, November 07, 2023, In Riyadh, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, presided over a Cabinet session. During the session, the Cabinet was briefed on recent discussions held by the Kingdom with various countries aimed at enhancing cooperation for mutual interests and coordinating on regional and global issues.
The Cabinet also discussed the situation in Gaza and reiterated Saudi Arabia's long-standing support for the Palestinian people. The Kingdom has initiated a fundraising campaign to aid those in Gaza and is working with regional and international stakeholders to achieve an immediate ceasefire and bring justice and peace to the Palestinian cause.
Furthermore, the Cabinet acknowledged the Kingdom's successful hosting of high-level international events such as the Global Health Exhibition and the Global Cybersecurity Forum in Riyadh. These events have resulted in agreements, memoranda of understanding, and discussions that contribute to the country's progress in vital sectors, promoting economic and social development.
The Cabinet addressed several key items on its agenda and made the following decisions:
1. Approval of a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
2. Authorization for the Minister of Commerce to engage in discussions with Egypt regarding a draft memorandum of understanding on consumer protection cooperation.
3. Renewal of a veterinary services cooperation agreement between Saudi Arabia and Egypt for five years.
4. Authorization for the Minister of Tourism to hold talks with Tunisia and Côte d'Ivoire concerning two draft memorandums of understanding on tourism cooperation.
5. Authorization for the Minister of Tourism to engage in discussions with the African Union regarding a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in human capital development in the tourism sector.
6. Authorization for the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to hold talks with Morocco, Rwanda, and Djibouti on draft memorandums of understanding in digital government cooperation.
7. Approval of a memorandum of understanding between Saudi Export Development Authority and the General Authority of the Egyptian Export Development Centre for non-oil export development.
8. Approval of memorandums of understanding between the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of Saudi Arabia and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kenya for combating corruption.
9. Authorization for the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission to discuss a memorandum of understanding with Mauritania for cooperation in improving assessment and accreditation tools.
10. Approval of a cooperation agreement between the Presidency of State Security of Saudi Arabia and the General Directorate of National Security of Mauritania for combating terrorism and terrorist financing.
11. Approval of memorandums of understanding between the General Department of Financial Investigation at the Presidency of State Security and the National Financial Intelligence Processing Units of Senegal, Benin, Chad, and Togo for exchanging investigative results related to money laundering, financing terrorism, and related crimes.
12. Approval of a model memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and governments and international organizations to cooperate in implementing the initiatives of the Oil Sustainability Program (OSP).
13. Authorization for the Minister of Energy to engage in discussions with the African Organization for Standardization on a draft cooperation agreement in the field of clean fuel solutions for food provision.
