NEOM, September 05, 2023, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, presided over today's Cabinet meeting in NEOM. The Cabinet was briefed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the specifics of discussions discussing ways to improve ties with the Kingdom that had taken place with leaders of other nations over the previous days. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, the minister of media, said in statements to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the Cabinet considered reports provided by follow-up committees entrusted with coordinating between the Kingdom and foreign nations. The reports go into depth about the committees' most recent attempts to strengthen their ties to these nations through cooperation and integration. The minister stated that in light of the illustrious and long-standing ties that unite Saudi Arabia and the friendly nations, the Cabinet looks forward to greater progress in their collaborative efforts.
The Kingdom's efforts to improve global multilateral cooperation to address water concerns and its own initiative to help address them were considered in the Cabinet.
These initiatives include the creation of the Global Water Organization, which has its headquarters in Riyadh and strives to develop and consolidate cooperative cooperation between states and organizations in the water field to accomplish sustainable development goals.
In order to establish stability, promote peace, and advance global development, the minister said that the Cabinet discussed regional and international developments as well as the efforts being made in these areas. She reiterated the need for cooperation and the consolidation of joint activities.
The Cabinet addressed the subjects on its agenda and made a number of decisions, including the ones listed below:
First:
a proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Italian Republic for cooperation in the energy sector, to be discussed with the Italian side by the energy minister or a delegate.
Second:
approving a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, the Ministry of Tourism of Ghana, and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the establishment of the Sustainable Tourism Global Center (STGC).
Third:
A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the areas of science, research, academia, and knowledge exchange between the Islamic University of Madinah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies in the United Kingdom is authorized to be discussed with the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies by the Islamic University of Madinah's president or a representative.
Fourth:
allowing the Saudi Space Agency's (SSA's) chairman of the board of directors, who is also the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, or a representative, to speak with the Indian side about a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the SSA and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) regarding space activities for peaceful purposes.
Fifth:
a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the General Court of Audit (GCA) and the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India for cooperation in the areas of accounting, auditing, and professional work, to be discussed with the Indian side.
Sixth:
The "Open Access to Government-Funded Research Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" policy is being approved.
