Aden, August 14, 2023, In a commendable effort to rid Yemeni lands of the deadly threat posed by mines, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has made significant progress through its Masam project. During the second week of August this year, a total of 1,055 mines were successfully cleared from various regions of Yemen. Among these were two anti-personnel mines, 112 anti-tank mines, 926 unexploded items of ordnance, and 15 explosive devices. The Masam project, spearheaded by KSrelief, continues to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the Yemeni people by eliminating these hazardous remnants of conflict. The total number of mines cleared since the inception of the project has now reached an impressive 410,701. In a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the lives and welfare of Yemeni citizens, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate unwavering dedication through its humanitarian initiatives. Spearheaded by KSrelief and the Masam project, efforts are tirelessly underway to eradicate the indiscriminately scattered mines left behind by the Houthi militia within Yemeni territory. This tireless endeavor plays a pivotal role in upholding the safety and security of the Yemeni population, as the Kingdom remains resolute in its mission to alleviate the devastating impact of these hazardous devices.
