NEOM, September 24, 2023, In response to the passing of former president Giorgio Napolitano, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud wrote a telegram of condolence to Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic. "We received news of the passing of the former President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, and we extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to Your Excellency, the family of the deceased, and your friendly people, hoping that you will not suffer any harm," the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said.
