Geneva, March 27, 2025 – The Saudi Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila, strongly denounced the ongoing attacks and violations carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people, underscoring the deliberate targeting of civilians.

In his address before the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on the human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories, Ambassador bin Khothaila reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s rejection of Israel’s move to establish an agency aimed at displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, as well as its approval of the separation of 13 unlawful settlement neighborhoods in the occupied West Bank.

He regarded these measures as flagrant breaches of international law and international humanitarian law.

Bin Khothaila also condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Syrian territory, stressing that such attacks pose a serious threat to Syria’s security and the stability of the wider region.

Furthermore, he urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by putting an end to these violations and working towards the cessation of all Israeli military operations, whether in Palestinian or Syrian lands.

The ambassador concluded by emphasizing that peace can only be realized when the Palestinian people attain their legitimate rights, primarily the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, he reaffirmed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with Syria—both its government and its people—calling for respect for its sovereignty and the cessation of all violations undermining its security and stability.
