Barcelona, October 18, 2024 – The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) took part today in the Specialized Conference on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), an event hosted by Blanquerna and Ramon Llull universities in Barcelona, Spain. The conference, which runs from October 18 to 19, brought together language experts and academics to exchange experiences on the use of CEFR, explore its compatibility with different languages, and share insights on language education.
In his remarks, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of KSGAAL, highlighted the academy’s active participation in the event, emphasizing that it serves as an important step toward strengthening linguistic identity and promoting the preservation of the Arabic language. He noted that this effort aligns with KSGAAL's core competencies and supports broader national goals, particularly as part of the Human Capability Development Program under Saudi Vision 2030. This strategic initiative seeks to equip individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in a globally competitive environment, with a focus on language education and cultural preservation.
The CEFR conference received strong backing from prominent global organizations specializing in language teaching and assessment, and attracted numerous international experts. The event served as a platform for the presentation of several significant research papers, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on effective language learning frameworks and methodologies.
KSGAAL’s participation in the conference is in line with its strategic objectives of fostering collaboration with institutions that focus on teaching languages to non-native speakers. The academy seeks to benefit from the institutional methodologies shared during the event while showcasing its own initiatives, programs, and linguistic projects. Through these efforts, KSGAAL plays a vital role in preserving the purity and identity of the Arabic language and promoting its use, both in speech and writing. The academy is dedicated to facilitating the teaching and learning of Arabic, not only within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but also globally.
This involvement underscores KSGAAL’s commitment to furthering the reach and understanding of the Arabic language, ensuring its relevance and accessibility in an increasingly interconnected world.
