The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has inked a joint cooperation agreement with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Somalia, pledging $1,500,000 to bolster the Burao Technical Institute (BTI). The agreement, signed at the KSrelief's headquarters in Riyadh by Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and Mohamed Abdi, the Country Director of NRC in Somalia, focuses on infrastructure development and capacity building for BTI.
Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem, Director of the Health and Environmental Aid Department at KSrelief, highlighted that the collaboration aims to empower young individuals, including the displaced, refugees, and the host community, by providing them with technical and professional skills, as well as fostering entrepreneurship. The agreement is poised to directly benefit 570 individuals and have an indirect impact on 4,420.
This initiative aligns with the Kingdom's commitment, represented by KSrelief, to elevate the technical skills of low-income learners in Somalia while offering diverse humanitarian aid to the BTI.
