Paris, April 18, 2024, On Tuesday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) finalized a significant cooperation agreement with the World Food Programme (WFP), amounting to $4,085,000. This agreement is specifically aimed at addressing moderate acute malnutrition among children under five years old, as well as pregnant and nursing women in Yemen.
The agreement, signed during the International Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries organized by France and the EU in Paris, was formalized by KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah and WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain.
The primary objective of this partnership is to enhance the nutritional status of vulnerable groups and prevent nutritional deficiencies. This will be achieved through the distribution of nutritional supplements targeting 86,985 individuals, including children and pregnant or nursing women.
This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts, particularly in Yemen, through KSrelief's collaboration with specialized UN agencies. By addressing malnutrition and supporting food security initiatives, this agreement represents another step forward in aiding the Yemeni people and alleviating humanitarian challenges in the region.
