Amman, November 11, 2024 – The medical clinics operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) have been providing vital healthcare services to Syrian refugees at the Al-Zaatari camp in Jordan. During the first week of November 2024, these clinics treated a total of 2,483 patients, offering a wide range of medical services to meet the diverse needs of the refugee population.
The general medicine clinics saw a significant number of patients, with 634 individuals receiving consultations and necessary medications. Among the specialized services, the internal medicine clinic treated 122 patients, primarily managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Meanwhile, the pediatric clinic attended to 285 children, providing essential care to the younger population in the camp.
The emergency department was another critical component of the medical outreach, receiving 253 patients who required immediate care for various urgent health conditions. In addition to these services, the dental clinic helped 158 patients with oral health issues, while the women’s clinic saw 214 female patients, addressing their specific healthcare needs. The ENT clinic also played a crucial role, with 51 patients visiting for treatment of sinus, pharyngeal, tonsil, and middle ear infections. Ophthalmology services were also available, as 59 patients received treatment for eye-related issues.
Further specialized care was provided by the cardiology clinic, which treated 27 patients with heart conditions, and the diagnostic radiology clinic, which attended to 51 patients, conducting essential imaging procedures to support diagnosis and treatment. The rehabilitation clinic treated 22 patients, focusing on physical recovery and rehabilitation, while the physical therapy department provided care to 57 patients in need of therapeutic support.
In addition to the clinical consultations, the laboratories conducted 2,924 tests for 319 patients, ensuring accurate diagnoses and comprehensive care. X-rays were administered to 99 patients, totaling 144 imaging procedures, which were critical in assessing and diagnosing a range of conditions. Chronic disease management was also a key focus, with medications dispensed to 132 patients, ensuring continuity of care for long-term health conditions.
In total, the pharmacy filled 1,542 prescriptions, ensuring that all patients received the medications they needed to manage their health conditions. This comprehensive healthcare support is part of KSrelief’s ongoing efforts to provide quality medical care to Syrian refugees in Jordan, contributing to their well-being and quality of life.
