KSrelief Delivers Over 5.5 Million Liters of Water to Hodeidah, Yemen


Water Supply and Sanitation: KSrelief pumped 2,790,000 liters of drinking water and 2,854,000 liters of non-potable water into local tanks in Al-Khawkhah, Hodeidah.


Sanitation Efforts: The project included 111 waste removal operations, 85 wastewater drying processes, maintenance of 16 bathrooms, and one water quality inspection.


Beneficiaries: These services provided vital support to 51,000 individuals in the region, improving both water access and environmental sanitation.


Hodeidah, Yemen, August 30, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continues its crucial efforts to improve water supply and environmental sanitation in the Al-Khawkhah directorate of Hodeidah, Yemen. This ongoing project is making a significant impact on the local community, addressing essential needs and enhancing living conditions.


In July, KSrelief successfully pumped an impressive total of 2,790,000 liters of drinking water into local tanks, ensuring that the community has access to clean and safe water. Alongside this, 2,854,000 liters of non-potable water were also distributed, catering to various needs and supporting daily activities.


The project’s scope extends beyond water provision to include comprehensive sanitation services. Over the course of the month, KSrelief carried out 111 waste removal operations from displacement camps, which is crucial for maintaining hygiene and preventing the spread of diseases. Additionally, 85 wastewater drying processes were completed to manage and mitigate the impact of wastewater on the environment. The maintenance of 16 bathrooms and one water quality inspection were also part of the initiative, ensuring that facilities are functional and that water safety standards are met.


These efforts collectively benefited approximately 51,000 individuals in the region, significantly improving their quality of life. KSrelief’s commitment to providing vital water and sanitation services is a testament to its dedication to supporting communities in need and addressing fundamental humanitarian needs in Yemen.
