Al-Mahra, November 22, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully distributed 500 winter bags in the Man'ar and Al-Masilah districts of Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen, as part of its ongoing emergency shelter project designed to assist vulnerable communities facing harsh winter conditions.
This initiative, which is a part of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian efforts, aims to provide essential support to residents in desert regions where winter temperatures can be extreme. The winter bags, containing vital supplies such as warm clothing and blankets, are intended to help alleviate the suffering of those most affected by the cold weather.
Salem Abdullah Nimer, Secretary-General of the local council in Al-Mahra, emphasized the significance of the project, especially with the onset of winter. He expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia and KSrelief for their timely and life-saving aid. Nimer highlighted that the distribution of these winter bags provides crucial assistance to communities that are already struggling due to ongoing crises.
This distribution is part of a larger initiative by KSrelief, which plans to distribute a total of 5,300 winter bags across six governorates in Yemen. The project is aimed at mitigating the severe impact of winter on Yemen's most vulnerable populations, particularly those in areas that are hard-hit by conflict and natural disasters. Through this initiative, KSrelief continues its commitment to offering vital humanitarian aid to alleviate the hardships of the Yemeni people during times of crisis, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s dedication to global humanitarian efforts.
