Khartoum, Sudan, March 20, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has distributed 1,500 food baskets in Khartoum State, Republic of Sudan, benefiting 10,182 displaced individuals as part of the third phase of the Food Security Support Project in the country. This initiative is designed to assist displaced populations in Sudan, particularly those affected by ongoing humanitarian crises and conflict. The distribution is a key component of Saudi Arabia’s broader commitment to supporting the Sudanese people as they navigate these challenging circumstances.
The Food Security Support Project, an integral part of KSrelief’s humanitarian outreach, aims to distribute a total of 30,000 food baskets to displaced individuals as part of the voluntary return program. The initiative spans multiple Sudanese states, including Gezira, Khartoum, Red Sea, Sennar, and White Nile, targeting areas where displaced populations are returning to their homes. This support is crucial in providing immediate relief and helping individuals rebuild their lives in the face of adversity.
The food baskets contain essential items designed to address the nutritional needs of those affected by displacement. As part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts, this project is one of many that KSrelief has implemented in Sudan to alleviate suffering and help stabilize vulnerable communities. The Kingdom’s continued commitment to humanitarian aid, through initiatives such as this, underscores its dedication to alleviating the hardships faced by displaced people in conflict zones.
The distribution in Khartoum marks a significant step forward in the Kingdom’s support for Sudan, reinforcing its role as a leader in global humanitarian relief efforts. KSrelief’s operations are carried out with the aim of reaching those most in need, with a particular focus on displaced populations who are often the most vulnerable to food insecurity and other challenges.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader objectives of promoting regional stability and humanitarian assistance. By continuing to support Sudan through such projects, KSrelief is helping to address the pressing needs of displaced individuals, providing them with the resources required to overcome the difficulties of displacement and work toward rebuilding their communities.
