Idlib, January 13, 2025 – In a continued effort to alleviate the suffering of earthquake-affected populations in northern Syria, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully distributed 770 food baskets and 770 health kits on Thursday in the villages of Barisha and Harem city in the Idlib Governorate. This vital initiative is part of the second phase of the Food Aid and Health Kits Distribution Project 2024, a program designed to provide essential support to those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck the region.
The distribution of these aid packages benefitted 4,650 individuals, including families and vulnerable communities who have faced immense challenges following the natural disaster. The food baskets contain vital nourishment to meet the immediate dietary needs of the affected populations, while the health kits offer essential medical supplies to help prevent the spread of diseases and provide basic healthcare support to those in need.
This initiative is one of many humanitarian projects spearheaded by KSrelief as part of Saudi Arabia's broader commitment to providing emergency assistance and long-term relief to the people of Syria. Through these continued efforts, KSrelief is working to alleviate the hardships faced by those impacted by the earthquake, demonstrating the Kingdom’s unwavering support for the Syrian people in their time of need.
The distribution not only highlights KSrelief’s dedication to humanitarian aid but also exemplifies the Kingdom's long-standing role in supporting international communities affected by crises. As the Saudi government's primary humanitarian arm, KSrelief has consistently responded to disasters, ensuring that those affected receive the essential resources and support needed to rebuild their lives and overcome adversity.
This latest phase of aid is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian principles and its tireless efforts to ensure the well-being of vulnerable populations across the world.
