Idlib, November 14, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully completed the second phase of its food and hygiene kit distribution project in the Idlib region of Syria. On November 13, 2024, a total of 914 families, benefiting 5,484 individuals, received essential aid as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support those impacted by the devastating earthquake that struck northern Syria earlier this year.

The distribution included food baskets, which are vital for providing nourishment to families struggling with the aftermath of the disaster, and hygiene kits, aimed at improving sanitation and preventing the spread of diseases in the region. The packages were carefully assembled to address both immediate survival needs and long-term health and hygiene requirements, ensuring that the affected populations receive comprehensive support during this challenging time.

This initiative marks a key phase in KSrelief’s multi-phase response to the earthquake’s impact, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to alleviating suffering and providing essential assistance to those in need. The first phase of the project was implemented earlier this year, and the current phase extends the Kingdom’s support to even more families, reaching vulnerable communities who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to the devastating natural disaster.

KSrelief’s food aid and hygiene kit distribution is part of a broader network of relief and recovery operations that have been underway in Syria since the earthquake. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, continues to lead humanitarian efforts to address the urgent needs of displaced and affected populations in Syria, providing critical supplies that help restore dignity and improve living conditions for thousands of individuals. This program, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, reflects the Kingdom's broader commitment to offering sustainable humanitarian assistance globally and supporting efforts to rebuild lives in the aftermath of crises.

KSrelief’s efforts in Syria are part of its ongoing mission to extend Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian aid to those suffering from conflict, natural disasters, and economic hardships. The project in Idlib is a testament to the Kingdom’s tireless dedication to helping those in need, promoting resilience, and facilitating the recovery of communities impacted by catastrophe.
