Al-Qadarif State, Sudan, December 7, 2024 – On Thursday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 990 food baskets to vulnerable families in Al-Qadarif State, Sudan, benefiting a total of 5,940 individuals. This initiative marks the third phase of the ongoing food security support project in Sudan for 2024 and is a critical part of KSrelief’s broader efforts to alleviate the humanitarian challenges faced by the Sudanese people amidst the ongoing crisis.
The food baskets provided essential nutritional support to families in need, containing vital food supplies to sustain them during difficult times. The recipients, many of whom have been severely impacted by the ongoing conflict and economic instability in Sudan, are now receiving a much-needed lifeline to support their basic needs. This distribution aligns with KSrelief’s commitment to improving food security and ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to adequate nutrition during times of crisis.
The food aid provided by KSrelief is part of a series of relief and humanitarian projects launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm. KSrelief has been instrumental in addressing the needs of affected populations in Sudan, focusing on food security, health care, shelter, and other essential services. These efforts reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Sudan in the face of its humanitarian challenges and working toward the well-being and stability of its people.
As part of its sustained efforts, KSrelief continues to work closely with local partners to identify and assist the most vulnerable communities across Sudan, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most. Through these initiatives, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains dedicated to providing timely and effective assistance, reinforcing its role as a leading force in global humanitarian aid and demonstrating solidarity with those suffering from conflict and displacement. The food distribution in Al-Qadarif State is another example of the Kingdom's commitment to easing the burden of those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
