On October 30, 2024, in Aden, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) officially concluded a significant vocational training and business skills development project in Yemen, carried out in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This initiative aimed to empower the Yemeni youth by providing them with essential skills and resources necessary for economic independence and growth.
The vocational training project successfully reached 1,500 young men and women across nine Yemeni governorates. Participants were trained in various technical fields, including food processing, textiles, engine repair, and solar panel installation, equipping them with valuable skills that can enhance their employability and foster entrepreneurship. Additionally, each participant received a toolkit designed to support the establishment of their own businesses, facilitating a pathway to self-sufficiency.
Intesar Al-Jafri, the Deputy Minister for Girls' Education and Training at the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training, commended the efforts of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to empower the Yemeni population. She highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting vocational education and enhancing economic recovery in Yemen, which has been severely impacted by ongoing conflict and instability.
This project is part of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian and relief efforts in Yemen, which focus on addressing urgent needs while promoting sustainable development. By investing in vocational training and entrepreneurship, KSrelief aims to help Yemenis rebuild their lives and communities, contributing to the overall stability and prosperity of the nation.
