Amman, January 16, 2025 – In a continued effort to support vulnerable communities, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched the third phase of its Winter Clothing Distribution Project (Kanaf), providing shopping vouchers to 1,525 individuals across the Tafileh and Karak governorates of Jordan. The initiative, which was rolled out on Monday, allows beneficiaries to purchase much-needed winter clothing from designated stores in their local areas.
The project specifically targets vulnerable groups, including 249 Palestinian refugee families, ensuring that they have access to essential warm clothing to protect them from the harsh winter conditions. This effort is part of a broader humanitarian response led by KSrelief, aimed at alleviating the difficulties faced by those living in poverty or displacement, particularly during the cold winter months.
KSrelief's assistance is in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive humanitarian support to those affected by extreme weather and other crises. The center, which serves as the Kingdom’s primary channel for humanitarian aid, regularly implements initiatives designed to address immediate needs in the region, ranging from food and healthcare to shelter and clothing.
By enabling the recipients to select their winter wear from local stores, the Kanaf project ensures that the aid is both practical and culturally appropriate, fostering dignity and self-sufficiency for the families it assists. This distribution reflects Saudi Arabia's deep commitment to addressing the humanitarian needs of refugees and other vulnerable communities, not only within the Kingdom but across the broader Middle East region.
