Riyadh, November 29, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a strategic collaborative agreement with the International Wars and Disasters Victims Protection Association (IRVD) to provide healthcare, educational, and social services to individuals who have undergone separation after being born as conjoined twins. This milestone partnership, which aims to benefit approximately 180 individuals globally, was formalized during the prestigious International Conference on Conjoined Twins in Riyadh.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz, Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs at KSrelief, marking a significant step forward in ensuring the well-being and future success of conjoined twins post-separation. The collaborative efforts outlined in this agreement will extend beyond medical care, also focusing on the provision of tailored educational and social support, helping these individuals reintegrate into society and lead fulfilling lives in their respective countries or countries of residence.
In an effort to ensure long-term monitoring and support, the program will establish a comprehensive database and information bank, designed to track the health, education, and social progress of each individual. The partnership further strengthens the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, continuing the Kingdom’s humanitarian commitment to providing specialized care to these individuals, in line with global standards and the latest international medical advancements. Through this initiative, KSrelief reiterates its dedication to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly those affected by rare medical conditions, and its ongoing efforts to promote international cooperation in humanitarian relief and recovery.
