Taiz, February 1, 2024, On Wednesday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) initiated the second phase of its Orphan Sponsorship and Empowerment Project in Taiz Governorate, Yemen. The comprehensive project, benefiting 150 families, encompasses the provision of school bags and sponsorships for education, livelihood, and health.
Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Mekhlafi, the Deputy Governor of Taiz, lauded KSrelief's humanitarian endeavors and expressed optimism regarding the positive impact on the living and social conditions of orphans. He anticipated that these interventions would serve to boost educational pursuits and prepare orphans for future employment opportunities. Dr. Al-Mekhlafi also commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unwavering commitment to humanitarian and developmental projects, particularly emphasizing strategic initiatives benefiting the entire governorate's residents.
The overarching goal of the Orphan Sponsorship and Empowerment Project is to economically empower 440 provider families and provide support to orphans in Yemen. The initiative creates sustainable job opportunities to ensure income security, extending sponsorships for livelihood, education, and health to help mitigate the financial challenges faced by families who have lost a member. Notably, the project aims to facilitate the enrollment of 1,300 orphans in educational programs.
These commendable efforts align seamlessly with the broader humanitarian initiatives led by the Kingdom through KSrelief, with a dedicated focus on supporting and uplifting orphans in Yemen.
