KSrelief launches food aid project in Marib, Yemen for displaced families

Marib, Aug 18, 2023, Yesterday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) embarked on a noble endeavor as they unveiled a groundbreaking project aimed at providing essential sustenance to displaced families and individuals facing dire circumstances in the Marib governorate of Yemen.

In an ambitious endeavor, a project has been launched with the goal of providing 6,207 baskets filled with vital food commodities to a staggering 43,449 individuals belonging to the most vulnerable groups in Marib.In a statement today, Dr. Abdu Rabbo Miftah, the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, expressed his admiration for the commendable efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief. These efforts have played a crucial role in providing much-needed assistance to the countless families who have been displaced and adversely affected by the ongoing crisis. In a recent statement, Miftah, a prominent figure, emphasized the significance of these projects in providing much-needed relief to the vulnerable population in Yemen.

Abdulrahman Al-Sayaari, the director of the KSrelief office in Marib, has announced a noble initiative that seeks to alleviate the dire circumstances faced by families grappling with food shortages in nine Yemeni governorates, including Marib. The project's primary objective is to ensure that these vulnerable households receive the sustenance they desperately need. As part of the 2023 food aid project, a dedicated initiative has been launched to assist the displaced and needy individuals in Yemen. The primary objective of this endeavor is to ensure the distribution of a staggering 179,982 food baskets throughout the country on a bimonthly basis.

In a remarkable display of humanitarian efforts, aid has been extended to various governorates in Yemen. The regions of Marib, Hadramout, Mahrah, Shabwah, Al-Jawf, Hodeidah, Socotra, Hajjah, and Saada have all received assistance, in addition to the aid already provided during emergencies. This concerted effort aims to alleviate the suffering and address the pressing needs of the affected populations.
