Kabul, November 15, 2024: In a significant move to support those in dire need, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a comprehensive shelter project aimed at providing critical assistance to Afghan returnees from Pakistan as well as victims of recent floods. The project, which was officially initiated yesterday, is designed to deliver immediate relief to some of the most vulnerable populations in Afghanistan, ensuring that thousands of individuals have access to basic shelter and essentials during times of crisis.

The shelter project will provide a total of 4,882 shelter kits, each containing essential items such as tents, blankets, plastic mattresses, and other vital supplies needed to create safe living conditions. These kits will benefit 29,292 individuals across 13 provinces in Afghanistan, offering them much-needed relief as they navigate the challenges brought on by displacement and natural disasters.

KSrelief’s initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian assistance, particularly in regions affected by conflict and disaster. By addressing the urgent needs of displaced Afghan families and flood victims, the Kingdom continues to play a key role in alleviating the suffering of the Afghan people, demonstrating solidarity and support in times of crisis.

This project is part of a broader suite of relief efforts that KSrelief has been implementing in Afghanistan, which include providing medical aid, food assistance, and support for infrastructure development. The center remains dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by crisis, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope for the future.
