KSrelief Masam Project Cleared 2,474 Explosives in Yemen Last Week

The total number of explosives removed by the Masam Project now stands at 460,951, significantly contributing to civilian safety and the ongoing recovery efforts in Yemen.
During the second week of September 2024, the Masam Project cleared 2,474 explosive devices across various regions of Yemen, including 2,439 unexploded ordnances, 28 anti-tank mines, six anti-personnel mines, and one IED.

On September 17, 2024, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's Masam Project, which focuses on clearing explosives in Yemen, removed a total of 2,474 explosive devices during the second week of September. This included 2,439 unexploded ordnances, 28 anti-tank mines, six anti-personnel mines, and one improvised explosive device (IED). The Masam team notably cleared 2,372 unexploded ordnances in Aden Governorate alone. Other significant operations included removing explosives from Hodeidah, Lahij, Marib, Shabwah, and Taiz Governorates. The total number of explosives cleared by the Masam Project has now reached 460,951, addressing the dangerous remnants of war that have been left across Yemen, posing risks particularly to civilians.
