KSrelief partners with civil-society group to enhance medical facilities in Sudan

Riyadh, December 8, 2023, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) entered into a significant cooperation agreement with a civil-society organization aimed at equipping intensive-care units (ICUs) for children and adults, emergency departments, and surgery sections in seven key hospitals across Sudan. The targeted regions include Gezira, Nile River, White Nile, and North states, with the total value of the agreement reaching SAR 5 million.

The agreement, signed by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh, underscores the commitment to enhancing medical facilities and services in Sudan. The primary goal is to provide essential medical equipment to the specified departments in the seven hospitals. This equipment includes emergency devices, anesthesia machines, ventilators, automatic injectors, vital-signs monitoring devices, intensive-care beds, and operating beds. The agreement also encompasses the maintenance of these departments, ensuring the sustained provision of high-quality health services to approximately 7 million people.

This initiative is part of the broader efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as represented by KSrelief, to support the health sector in Sudan. By focusing on critical areas of medical care, the Kingdom aims to alleviate the suffering of Sudanese patients and the injured population, especially amid the current humanitarian crisis. This collaboration exemplifies the commitment to humanitarian aid and reflects the Kingdom's dedication to addressing pressing healthcare needs in the region.
