KSrelief's Masam Project clears 733 mines in Yemen in January 2024

Aden, January 30, 2024, During the fourth week of January 2024, the Masam Project, an initiative of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) aimed at demining operations in Yemen, successfully dismantled a total of 733 mines. This included the removal of two anti-personnel mines, 126 anti-tank mines, 602 unexploded ordnance, and three explosive devices.

Since the inception of the Masam Project, a noteworthy 430,323 mines have been cleared, underscoring the ongoing commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as represented by KSrelief, to eliminate the threat of mines in Yemeni territories. The initiative acknowledges the tragic consequences, including the loss of lives and injuries to innocent children, women, and the elderly, caused by these hazardous remnants.
