KSrelief's Masam Project Dismantles 1,047 Mines within a Week in Yemen

Aden, September 3, 2024 – In a significant advancement in humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s Masam project successfully neutralized 1,047 mines during the fifth week of August 2024. This critical operation involved the dismantling of a diverse array of explosive hazards, including four anti-personnel mines, 54 anti-tank mines, 973 pieces of unexploded ordnance, and 16 explosive devices.


The Masam project, spearheaded by KSrelief, reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedicated commitment to clearing Yemeni lands of mines that have been indiscriminately planted by the Houthi militia. These mines represent a severe threat to civilian safety, having caused numerous fatalities and injuries among innocent populations, including children, women, and the elderly.
