KSrelief sponsors 148 orphans in Aden, Yemen, supporting vulnerable youth

Aden, April 07, 2024, In an effort to uplift vulnerable youth, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) announced yesterday its financial sponsorship of 148 orphans in Yemen's Aden Governorate. This initiative coincides with Arab Orphan Day, observed annually on the first Friday of April.

The sponsorship program represents the second phase of a broader KSrelief project targeting orphans across eight Yemeni governorates: Aden, Lahj, Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, Al-Hudaydah, Taiz, Ma'rib, and Al-Jawf. Emphasizing long-term support, the project aims to empower 440 families by creating sustainable job opportunities. This approach equips families with a steady income source, allowing them to meet essential needs such as education and healthcare.

The project also addresses economic hardships faced by families who have lost their primary breadwinners. By improving their financial stability, the initiative supports orphans' continued enrollment in school and pursuit of education. Additionally, 1,300 orphans—both boys and girls—will receive school bags as part of the program.

KSrelief's intervention builds on Saudi Arabia's longstanding commitment to humanitarian relief for Yemeni orphans. This comprehensive program seeks to enhance living conditions, alleviate suffering, and pave a brighter path for these vulnerable youth.
