Riyadh, February 24, 2025 – Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), provided a comprehensive overview of the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum (RIHF) during a media roundtable session on Sunday. The session, which was attended by numerous media representatives, highlighted the key details of the upcoming forum, set to take place on February 24-25, 2025, in Riyadh. The forum, which marks a decade of KSrelief’s humanitarian efforts, will bring together global leaders, donors, humanitarian workers, and experts to discuss the most pressing issues facing the world’s most vulnerable populations.
Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized the significance of this year’s forum, which, in partnership with the United Nations and its affiliated humanitarian organizations, aims to address the evolving challenges within the humanitarian sector. One of the primary goals of the forum is to foster collaboration and dialogue between experts and practitioners from around the world, discussing topics such as the role of humanitarian diplomacy in conflict zones, enhancing access to humanitarian aid and efficient supply chains, and addressing the rising crisis of displacement caused by the increasing frequency of both conflicts and natural disasters.
In addition to the discussions, Dr. Al Rabeeah revealed that KSrelief would use the forum as a platform to sign several strategic agreements with international and UN organizations, further strengthening Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting global humanitarian initiatives. These agreements are expected to enhance the Kingdom's contribution to tackling humanitarian challenges across the globe.
A key highlight of the forum will be the Artificial Intelligence in Humanitarian Relief hackathon, an innovative initiative organized by KSrelief in collaboration with Alfaisal University. The hackathon will bring together top technology experts and humanitarian specialists to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to address critical humanitarian challenges, particularly in the healthcare sector. Dr. Al Rabeeah shared that the hackathon is designed to harness cutting-edge technology to provide sustainable solutions, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes the integration of innovation and technology in solving global issues. The event will focus on three core areas: AI, healthcare, and innovation, bringing together diverse experts to create impactful solutions for pressing humanitarian needs.
The forum will also serve as a key venue for fostering international partnerships, exchanging knowledge, and exploring actionable solutions to improve humanitarian aid delivery. Through these initiatives, KSrelief aims to continue its critical work in providing relief to those affected by crises, enhancing the efficiency of humanitarian efforts worldwide, and contributing to the Kingdom's leadership in global humanitarian efforts
As the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum unfolds, it promises to be an important milestone in the global humanitarian landscape, where Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian work, innovation, and international cooperation will be further solidified. The participation of leading figures and experts will ensure that the forum not only generates meaningful discussions but also drives concrete action in addressing the evolving needs of communities worldwide.
