KSrelief-supported clinics treated 15,888 in Al-Khawkhah, Yemen, in February

Hodeidah, Yemen, April 14, 2024, In February, the mobile medical and nutritional clinics operating in Al-Khawkhah district within Yemen's Al-Hudaydah province provided crucial treatment services to a total of 15,888 beneficiaries, with support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

Among the services rendered, the internal medicine clinic attended to 3,761 patients, addressing a range of medical conditions. The emergency clinic, handling urgent medical needs, served 4,860 cases during the month. Additionally, the epidemiology clinic provided care for 1,277 patients, focusing on disease prevention and control, while the pediatrics clinic specifically catered to 632 children, ensuring their healthcare needs were met.

Throughout the month, the mobile medical team extended assistance to 769 individuals, with specialized support from the reproductive health department benefiting 1,099 cases and the therapeutic nutrition clinic aiding 206 beneficiaries in addressing nutritional concerns. Immunization services were successfully administered to 114 individuals, contributing to public health initiatives. Moreover, the obstetrics department attended to 37 individuals, while the surgery and dressing department provided treatment to 370 patients, ensuring medical needs were met promptly.

Furthermore, the medical referral department handled 50 cases, facilitating access to specialized medical care where necessary. The awareness and education department played a crucial role, providing guidance and information to 2,713 individuals on healthcare practices and disease prevention strategies. A total of 4,993 individuals benefited from the laboratory department's services, aiding in diagnostic assessments and treatment planning.

Medicines were dispensed to 12,947 patients, ensuring access to essential pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the healthcare department addressed 3,277 cases, further supporting the community's health needs. The blood transfusion department assisted 9 individuals, while the cardiac monitoring department provided care for 4 beneficiaries with cardiovascular health concerns.

Furthermore, a maintenance operation was successfully conducted to rehabilitate one of the clinics, ensuring continued access to quality healthcare services for the local population. These efforts underscore KSrelief's commitment to providing comprehensive and accessible healthcare services to communities in need within Yemen, particularly in the Al-Khawkhah district of Al-Hudaydah province.
