Al-Mahrah, October 7, 2024 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is making significant strides in providing essential medical services to those in need at the Kidney Dialysis Center in Al-Ghaydah, located in Yemen's Al-Mahrah Governorate. This initiative is part of a broader commitment by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance healthcare services and alleviate the hardships faced by the Yemeni population amidst ongoing humanitarian challenges.
In September alone, KSrelief successfully served a total of 126 patients at the center. Among these individuals, 54 patients benefitted from a comprehensive treatment plan that included 446 scheduled dialysis sessions, along with six emergency sessions for those requiring immediate care. The center also facilitated medical examinations and consultations at its kidney disease clinic, further expanding access to necessary healthcare services for an additional 75 patients.
A closer look at the demographics of the patients reveals a diverse group, with 46% identifying as male and 54% as female. Importantly, the center also catered to vulnerable populations, with 16% of the patients being displaced individuals, 83% residents of Al-Mahrah, and a small fraction, 1%, classified as refugees. This reflects KSrelief's dedication to serving all segments of the community, regardless of their circumstances.
The Kidney Dialysis Center operates as a critical resource for patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases, providing them with life-sustaining treatments and necessary medical oversight. The ongoing efforts by KSrelief underscore the organization's commitment to improving health outcomes in Yemen, a nation grappling with a protracted humanitarian crisis.
Through these targeted initiatives, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aims to bolster the healthcare sector in Yemen, delivering hope and relief to countless individuals and families in distress. As KSrelief continues its mission, the focus remains on enhancing access to vital medical services and fostering a healthier future for the Yemeni people.
