Riyadh, November 19, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) will host the International Conference on Conjoined Twins in Riyadh on November 24-25, under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The event marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, a pioneering initiative in the field of humanitarian and medical care.

The conference will bring together a wide array of participants, including key government entities such as the Ministries of National Guard, Defense, Foreign Affairs, Health, Education, and Media. In addition, international humanitarian and medical organizations, as well as experts, researchers, and specialists from around the world, will be present to discuss advancements and challenges in the separation surgeries and care for conjoined twins.

Among the attendees will be conjoined twins from various countries who have undergone successful separation surgeries, along with their families, offering a deeply personal perspective on the impact of these procedures. The two-day event will feature humanitarian and scientific sessions, an exhibition, and a series of events highlighting Saudi Arabia's leadership in humanitarian efforts, particularly through its long-standing Saudi Conjoined Twins Program.

This initiative aligns with the Kingdom's broader Vision 2030 objectives, particularly its goals of improving the quality and efficiency of the healthcare and humanitarian sectors. The conference will also serve as a platform for forging agreements with international organizations, such as the United Nations, focused on global child welfare and the care of vulnerable populations, especially children.

Through these discussions, the conference aims to produce valuable recommendations in the medical and humanitarian fields, which will serve as crucial resources for specialists and professionals working with conjoined twins and in global humanitarian efforts. The conference underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and its ongoing efforts to provide high-quality, compassionate care to those in need.
